The mobile guardian updating student safety and school security

About

Defywire Watch is a blog in which the people of Defywire write about their passion for keeping students safe and schools secure. In the weeks and months ahead mobile technologies will bring enormous change. There are 2 BIG factors in those changes affecting the generation now in school:

1 . Digital technologies are “growing up” into mature, broadband, mobile devices that virtually every individual in that generation will have.

2. The youngsters now in school are the first generation to have grown up in the digital and connected world.

These changes mean a lot of things for our young people. Defywire is focused on one crucial new digital empowerment: Mobile devices are a stunningly effective new way to keep children safe.

Our History
The company’s founding principle was to use our technology and business backgrounds to keep children safe and teachers teaching. We set out to match corporate good with social good and solve a real problem.

The company started in 2003 using our knowledge of wireless technology to create a patented wireless software product called the Defywire Mobility Suite. This product allows us to take the complexity out of delivering wireless data to anyone at anytime.

In 2005 we began to solve the challenge of bringing school administrators, teachers, students and parents together in real time. We dedicated ourselves to providing school officials with the capacity to monitor students’ whereabouts throughout the school day, and to give immediate access to emergency medical information about an ill or injured child, without losing precious minutes locating the information in a distant office. Defywire Mobile Guardian and its Safety Suite of applications is the only real time, wireless solution for managing student data everyday and in a crisis.

The Defywire Mobile Guardian is a key part of many school districts’ safety plan and keeps approximately a quarter million children safe today in numerous states.
